Many ski resorts will have ski equipment rental shops on their premises where people can come and rent ski equipment, such as skis, boots and poles, on a daily or weekly basis. Ski equipment rental shops usually carry different sizes of equipment to fit their customers body and shoe sizes. Many first time or beginning skiers will choose to rent ski equipment because they are not sure if they want to make the investment of purchasing new equipment.

Family skiing vacations can be a lot of fun when you have all of the right rental equipment and clothing that you need. Finding the right rental agency at your vacation spot, though, might require you to make a few phone calls. This will help you get all of the snow skiing equipment, clothing, and other supplies that you need for your vacation at the cheapest prices. First, you can call your resort to get the names and numbers of some of the rental companies in the area. Ask the resort if they have deals with any of the businesses that will give you discounts for staying at the lodge. Once you have the numbers, call the first business on your list and ask them if they have skiing equipment and clothing that you can use for your holiday. Be sure to ask them about skis that are made specifically for cross country, mountains, and backcountry trails. You should also ask about snowshoes, poles, boots, and jackets that are useful in the cold snow. If you have some teenagers in your family, they might be interested in snowboarding, so make sure the rental business has them too. You can avoid the long waits during the holidays if they have helicopters that can take you to the spots you want to ski in. Be sure to double check with them to make sure that you can get the discounts the resort told you about so that you can save money on your equipment, ski wax, and clothing.
